My motivation is gone

I haven’t worked out in a week and I stopped paying attention to calories. Why? I don’t know. I think I’m just tired. Tired of worrying about it, tired of trying so hard, just tired. I don’t want to be fat, but right now I really don’t care. It’s weird. I try to motivate myself, however when it comes time to exercise or when I reach for that candy bar – my motivation escapes and I just give in to the laziness or the cravings. I have no idea what to do…

I’ve been there too. Don’t really know what to say on how to find your motivation again. It’s so hard to do. Just gotta find it somewhere deep inside of you. Often it helps me to look at where I’ve come from and remember all the little things that would bring me joy along the way. Like this pair of pants I had bought once….size 24…that were way too small for me. Put em’ up in my closet, started losing weight and was able to wear them for a little while and then had to get rid of them when they got too big. It just amazes me to think of that…those were once too small and had become too big. There’s a lot of little things here and there like that for me, that do help to bring the motivation back. I hope you find yours! :D

You know what?! This is going to sound crazy but I got like this a few years ago and I just said, “Screw it!!” I forgot about everything for a while, the gym, weight watchers, my obssessions, looking in the mirror, all of it!! Guess what happened when I let it all go? I STARTED TO LOSE WEIGHT!!!! Then I realized after a few weeks that I missed my routine and got back on track. Maybe we just need to let it all go and relax sometimes to see results!!! If you’re not in a hurry to lose weight, take a break for a while and see what happens :) You’ll get there!!!

I started googleing things on “how to get motivated” and read an article that said one of the things that makes you lose motivation is a lack of confidence (when you believe you wont succeed) And I think that’s what happened, when we think of what we want, our minds figure out ways to tell us why we aren’t getting it. And this can lead to negative thoughts…so it recommended focusing on gratitude. Setting aside time to think of all the good things in life and about you – so hopefully by focusing on what I have – I will feel more successful and become better motivated.

Think ill start a Grateful journal, that way I can write about all the positive things in my life everyday and hopefully get back on track.

We all understand what your feeling, I don’t think any real person has felt motivated to do something challenging all day, everyday. It’s important to give yourself a break. I am taking one now in fact, from work that is. The biggest challenge to losing weight, I find, is getting past my own emotional and mental hang-ups. Take time for your needs and find something that really inspires you. You’ll get your motivation back!!
